Day Four - Interviewing each other

Today as a group we interviewed each other about our day trip to the wood, such as what we enjoyed? what we did? was it fun? For those that wasn't there we asked what they thought about the course, are they enjoying it? and what was their favorite thing so far.  BY Reverend Stuart Field

A great morning with the young people - they all had the opportunity to use different filming equipment.  I want to say a MASSIVE thank you to all the young people for showing respect with each other and the equipment they are using - very proud of you all!!  We also watched some of the footage today and in the afternoon we made collage posters.

At the end of the day the young people went to visit the hall where our final celebrations will be on Friday 12th.

Day Three - Connecting in a different way

Backwoods skills

We had an amazing day hosted by Kaz and his team of 5 who showed us how to make fire with sticks and string, taught us survival techniques and awareness, archery, rope-making, how to butcher, cook and enjoy a squirrel (very tasty and chewy!) and primitive cooking and eating of deer (delicious).  Above all I think we got the message about reverence for life... the animals we used were safe, fresh road-kill so had already given up their lives and would have been wasted but became the focus of an extraordinary day of learning - blog today by Tim  (project manager)

The young people also used the camera to film different parts of the day - they all commented on how loud it was when wearing the headphones and how it helped you really focus on what is being filmed.  We have great footage of the squirrel being skinned!!

Our blog will now be written by the young people so come back tomorrow to find out what they have written :-)
